What exactly will you do to improve my paper?

While our editors will not rewrite your paper, they will do whatever they deem necessary to improve your document. This includes checking for and correcting the following types of errors:

• capitalization, spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors;
• errors in citation style and format, including footnotes, endnotes, in-text citations, and bibliographies;
• run-on sentences, passive voice, wordiness, sexist language, and incorrect word usage;
• errors in sentence structure (parallelism, syntax, variety) and paragraph structure (organization, length, topic sentences/transitions);
• incorrect tone of voice or level of language;
• awkward sentence construction, redundant or unnecessary text;
• errors in the flow, logic, unity, and structure of your entire paper;
• incorrect or inappropriate title page, table of contents, copyright page, and headings;
• format errors in the margins, page numbers, page alignment, running heads, and footers;
• use of ambiguous words instead of more precise words.
